Jim received a degree in Dispensing and Laboratory Optics in 1976 from Lakeshore Technical College in Cleveland, WI. He completed his training at Herslof Optical in Milwaukee, WI and received his certification from the American Board of Opticianry in 1978, as well as the Oregon Association of Ophthalmic Dispensers in 1983.

He is a member of the Opticians Association of Oregon. Jim enjoys providing excellent one-on-one customer service, whether it's replacing a screw or fitting a patient with eyewear. The Portland Clinic Optical Shop offers a large selection of frames, including children frames. On-site, while you wait, edging is offered (at the Downtown location) in the event that replacement lenses are needed for existing frames.
