Lee, Michael MD
I am a graduate of Northwestern. I moved to Oregon in 1987 to practice OBGYN. Born in Chicago, schooled in New York and California, it is Oregon that I love the best. I am a big sports fan and avidly follow the Timbers, Blazers, Ducks and Beavers. After delivering more than 4,000 babies, I decided to concentrate on gynecology solely in 2001, which has allowed me to focus on offering the best compassionate gynecologic care. To stay up on the latest advances, I have maintained membership and obtained advanced training through the American Urogynecologic Society, the American Urological Association, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists as well as the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
My approach to every patient is to treat them how I would want my own family member treated. Together, the patient and I implement the best course of treatment, keeping in mind, the personal goals of the patient. I practice using medical advances, such as ultrasound and minimally invasive surgery, avoiding unnecessary invasive measures when possible. My specialty is advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery. I carefully assess and treat complex problems of pelvic pain, fibroids, endometriosis, urinary incontinence and prolapse of the uterus, bladder and rectum. I practice all gynecologic problems with the appropriate use of ultrasound and laboratory testing for infertility, breast disorders, abnormal Pap and HPV, birth control, sexually transmitted infections, polycystic ovary syndrome, menopause and hormone therapy, ovarian cysts and tumors, decreased libido, sterilization and abnormal bleeding. I emphasize counseling and education to achieve an optimum outcome when resolving health issues.
My personal interest is the health and welfare of my family and myself. I have 3 grown children and 8 grandchildren. We regularly get together for family reunions and keep in touch daily. I thrive by keeping a daily routine that includes exercise, bike commuting and mixing in racket ball, tennis and swimming when time allows. I enjoy participating in events such as marathons, fund raising Triathlons, and Dignity Village meals. My outside activities include windsurfing, snowboarding and traveling. My favorite recent trips have been to Japan, Mexico, Hawaii and Europe.
Dr. Lee was elected as a top doctor in Portland Monthly’s 2014 “Top Docs and Nurses” feature.
