Just as Michelle Grove was finishing her nurse practitioner certification program at the University of Portland, she learned that her son had Type 1 diabetes. "I needed to learn everything I could about diabetes," she says. "It quickly became a passion in my life."

Michelle completed a preceptorship in diabetes management in 2003. Today she coaches people with diabetes, helping them explore new strategies for managing their disease and improving the quality of their lives. Michelle sees patients at our Downtown Office and South Office.

The Oregon Chapter of American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE), recently awarded its 2009 Diabetes Educator of the Year to nurse practitioner and diabetes educator, Michelle Grove.
