Hearing loss is the third most common health problem for Americans, affecting almost 30 million people of all ages. The Portland Clinic offers comprehensive Audiological services.

The first step in seeking help with a hearing problem, especially for the first time, is consultation with an Otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose and Throat physician) and a thorough clinical hearing evaluation by an Audiologist. Although hearing aids are often recommended for hearing problems, another form of treatment may be necessary.

Audiologists are hearing health care professionals who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of hearing and balance disorders. Our staff Audiologist, Marsha Owen, holds a doctorate degree in audiology (Au.D.) from the Arizona School of Health Sciences, a master's degree in audiology from San Diego State University, Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) through the American Speech, Language, Hearing Association, and Oregon state licensure. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. Dr. Owen has been serving patients with hearing loss in the Portland community for 19 years.

Hearing loss affects communication with loved ones, friends, and co-workers - everyone we interact with every day. Our Audiology program is designed to help patients understand their unique hearing problems and the effects on the quality of their own daily lives. Our goal is to provide the understanding and knowledge you need to make informed decisions about your hearing health care, and the support you need to effectively manage your hearing loss.
