WHAT'S NEW AT THE PORTLAND CLINIC

PLEASE WELCOME OUR NEW PHYSICIANS

Justin Pavlovich, M.D., otolaryngology, sees patients of all ages at our Tigard Medical office. He offers comprehensive medical and surgical care for problems of the ear, nose, throat and neck, such as: balance problems, swallowing disorders, voice problems, neck masses, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, breathing and sinus problems, sleep apnea and chronic tonsillitis. Dr. Pavlovich graduated cum laude from Princeton University, then earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed his residency training in otolaryngology at the Cleveland Clinic.

Derek Shia, M.D., orthopedics, has joined our Tigard Medical office. Dr. Shia specializes in sports injuries and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder and elbow. He attended Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., where he graduated cum laude. Following medical school, Dr. Shia completed a residency in orthopedic surgery and a fellowship in shoulder and elbow sports injuries and reconstruction at Washington University in Saint Louis, MO. While there, he provided care for members of the St. Louis Rams and other professional sports teams.

VOLUNTEER FOR A RESEARCH STUDY
the Clinical research department at the Portland Clinic is seeking participants for several research studies. our current studies involve:

  • Atrial fibrillation: An investigational drug to prevent strokes in people 50 and older with atrial fibrillation
  • Osteoporosis/bone density: A study for people 65 and older with decreased bone-mineral density
  • Endometrial Hyperplasia: An osteoporosis-prevention study for postmenopausal women aged 40 to 65
  • Overactive Bladder, 65+: A study of a medication for overactive bladder in people 65 and older
  • Overactive Bladder, 18+: An evaluation of a single treatment for adults with idiopathic overactive bladder with urinary incontinence
