Bio

I grew up in the Northwest and attended Western Washington University. After that, my pursuit of medicine took me on a long journey around the country, from Philadelphia, where I earned my medical degree at Temple University School of Medicine, to Sacramento for my general surgery residency at UC Davis Medical Center. I was thrilled to get back to the Northwest, practicing for three years in Olympia, Wash., before settling here with The Portland Clinic.

My main focus at the clinic is in gastrointestinal, hernia and soft-tissue surgeries. In general surgery, I truly found a specialty that I love — I couldn’t see myself doing anything else. The opportunity to see and treat a wide array of problems that have an immediate impact on a patient’s life is extremely rewarding. It allows me to get people back to work and back to their families, often after health problems that were completely unexpected. 

Most of my time outside of work is spent with my family, but sometimes I sneak off and go skiing, play drums, or just relax and read a book.
