Family Medicine - Primary Care
I was born and raised in the Portland area, and I followed my interest in health and healing to the University of Portland, where I majored in nursing and Spanish. After eight years as a registered nurse in a busy local emergency room, I returned to the university to complete a doctorate in nursing practice so that I could advocate for patients along their wellness journey. I practiced at a large primary care clinic in Washington before joining The Portland Clinic in 2021.
I believe that healing happens through safe and collaborative relationships. My goals are to create a healing space for my patients and to use trauma-informed care to promote safety and empowerment. I work with patients to explore what wellness means for them so I can help equip them to make informed decisions and improve their health.
As a family nurse practitioner, I see patients of all ages. While I treat a full range of conditions, my special interests include promoting women’s health and reducing cardiovascular risks through behavior and lifestyle changes. I incorporate integrative health and complementary therapies into my practice —including mindfulness, which was the subject of my doctoral research.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking (and perfecting my homemade biscotti recipe), hiking in the beautiful Northwest, knitting hats for my daughter, and going on culinary adventures with my husband. I am a member of the Nurse Practitioners of Oregon, and I sit on the board of the Oregon Nurses Foundation to help support the development of future nurses.
