I earned my medical degree from Wright State University in Dayton, OH and completed my residency in internal medicine at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, CA. I then completed a fellowship in rheumatology at Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, CA and was a practicing rheumatologist in Southern California for almost 9 years before migrating to the Pacific Northwest to practice at The Portland Clinic.
I enjoy the field of rheumatology because it enables me to see and treat a broad array of disease states, foster long term patient relationships, and work with cutting edge therapeutics. I treat conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, gout, lupus, osteoporosis, psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis, vasculitis, osteoarthritis, sjogren’s syndrome, scleroderma, dermatomyositis, polymyositis, polymyalgia thrumatica. I diagnose fibromyalgia. I perform procedures such as joint aspirations (fluid removal), joint injections, IV therapy and hyaluronate injections for management of osteoarthritis related knee pain.
When I am not in the office seeing patients, you can find me singing silly bath time songs with my young son, reading cooking blogs, swimming laps, and coaxing my husband into watching reality TV shows with me.
