Family Medicine - Primary Care
I earned my undergraduate degree at the University of Oregon and my medical degree from the Dartmouth Medical School. I completed my residency at Oregon Health Sciences University. I am a Portland native and would not want to live anywhere else (despite the rain!). I decided that I wanted to be a doctor when I was 11 years old, mostly because of a fascination with sciences and a desire to do good work. After our first child was born, my husband and I returned to our home city to settle in to work and to raising our family.
I chose family medicine because of its wide scope of practice and the opportunity to know my patients well. I enjoy seeing people of all ages and have been privileged to know and care for families into the third generation. My goal is to provide information and support for people to make choices about their lifestyle and self-care and about medications and medical procedures that might be needed. I treat acute medical problems and help people manage chronic conditions and I do some minor office procedures.
Community connection is very important to me. I am involved in my church and in our local schools. My husband and I have a part in providing meals to homeless and newly housed people downtown. I love to walk our eastside neighborhoods and hike Portland trails. I live in a three generation household, and appreciate the life we share together. Relaxation comes with reading, crossword puzzles, and having meals with family and friends at the great Portland restaurants.Dr. Roberts was elected as a top doctor in Portland Monthly’s 2015-2018 “Top Docs and Nurses” feature.
