Family Medicine - Primary Care
I am a Portland native and would not want to live anywhere else — despite the rain! I decided at the age of 11 that I wanted to be a doctor, prompted by my fascination with science and my desire to do good work. Following through on my early decision, I attended the University of Oregon, earned a medical degree at Dartmouth Medical School and returned to Portland to complete my residency at Oregon Health & Science University.
I chose family medicine because of its wide scope of practice and the opportunity to know my patients well. I enjoy seeing people of all ages and feel privileged to know and care for families into the third generation. My goal is to provide information and support that helps people make good choices about their lifestyles and self-care habits, and about any medications or medical procedures they might need. I treat acute medical problems, help manage chronic conditions and perform some minor office procedures.
Community connection is very important to me; I am involved in my church and in our local schools, and my husband and I help provide meals to homeless and newly housed people downtown. I live in a three-generation household, and appreciate the life we share together. For exercise, I love to walk our eastside neighborhoods and to hike Portland trails. For relaxation, I enjoy reading, doing crossword puzzles and having meals with family and friends at the great Portland restaurants.
