Pediatrics - Primary Care
I received my medical degree at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois in 1992. I finished my residency at the University of Michigan Medical Center in 1995. I am a Midwesterner who has called Oregon home since 1998 along with my engineer husband and our two teenagers. As a physician I am challenged to learn and teach daily and view my job as primarily one of education and prevention. If I can teach children how to make healthy choices with food and activity, they might avoid “lifestyle diseases” when they are older. Of course, as a pediatrician, I am very pro-immunization and believe that vaccines are a safe and effective intervention.
I have been at our Beaverton office for 15 years and have really enjoyed meeting people from all over the world in this community. Having ancillary staff who can do pediatric blood draws and xray is also a plus. I follow the immunization schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and believe it is safe for all children. To maintain my own life balance, I swim, walk the dog, cook, knit and hang out with my kids and husband at as many soccer and lacrosse games as possible.
