Internal Medicine - Primary Care
I was born and raised in New York City, where I spent 13 years of my professional career, mostly working as a registered nurse in large, metropolitan emergency rooms. While I enjoyed the variety and fast pace of the ER, I realized that I was missing out on providing continuity of care and developing relationships with my patients, so I enrolled in New York University and obtained my advanced practice (nurse practitioner) degree in primary care. As a nurse practitioner, I knew I would be able to really get to know my patients and help them on their healing journeys.
Prior to joining The Portland Clinic, I gained experience as a nurse practitioner in a diverse New York City internal medicine office and, briefly, in a gynecological oncology office. After a trip to India and Nepal with the Wilderness Medical Society, I was inspired to complete a certificate in holistic medicine. Today, I treat men and women at all stages of life using traditional medicine as well as holistic therapies — such as relaxation techniques, sleep tips and dietary advice — when appropriate. I have a special interest in helping women maintain wellness and hormonal balance throughout their cycles. I truly believe that a proper balance of body, mind and spirit are crucial for overall good health.
My family and I made the 3,000-mile leap to Oregon in 2017, drawn by the warmer winters, the friendly people and the breathtaking natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. When I am not at work, I can be found exploring the city in a search for the perfect almond milk latte; hiking or taking nature walks with my two kids, husband and golden retriever; perfecting my yogic headstand, or enjoying the culinary benefits of having a home (as opposed to our small New York apartment) with an actual kitchen made for cooking. I consistently try to practice my own wellness ideals by striving to stay present in my own chaotic and wonderful life!
