I’ve wanted to be a nurse ever since I was a young child, when our family started seeing a nurse practitioner as our primary care provider. I later interned with that same nurse practitioner, and it was a wonderful experience.
Today, I am a board certified family nurse practitioner (FNP-BC) with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Oregon Health & Science University and a master’s/FNP degree from Gonzaga University. As an FNP, I provide both primary care and acute care for patients at every stage of life, from birth to advanced age, and am able to write prescriptions and to perform suturing and other minor procedures.
I believe that the patient is the most important part of medicine. We achieve the best care by working together with our patients, listening to their concerns, and collaborating with other medical professionals as needed to meet those concerns. In addition, I believe that treating the entire person — body, soul and spirit — is crucial to providing the most complete and satisfying care possible.
I was born in McMinnville and grew up in Hillsboro and Redmond. I moved back to beautiful Hillsboro in 2012 to be closer to my son and to come work at The Portland Clinic. I love practicing at the clinic because we share the same values and mission for health care.
Away from work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends as well as camping, hiking, reading, volunteering at my church, biking, traveling to tropical places and scuba diving. When I go home each night, I feel confident knowing that I have provided the best care possible for my patients.
