Originally from Guatemala, I completed all of my medical education — including my medical degree, internal medicine residency and rheumatology fellowship — at the University of Texas McGovern Medical School in Houston. After that, I moved to the beautiful Pacific Northwest to join the fantastic team of physicians and other health care providers at The Portland Clinic.
As a rheumatologist, I diagnose and treat a wide variety of diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, lupus, vasculitis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, Sjögren’s syndrome, myopathies and scleroderma, among others. I also perform procedures such as joint injections and aspirations to help with pain from arthritis.
Throughout my training, I developed a passion for patient care and advocacy. I pride myself in providing high-quality and thoughtful care, and I strive to keep up to date with the most innovative therapies. I understand the importance of trust and dependability for people with chronic diseases, and I look forward to building long-lasting relationships with my patients.
When not at work, I love to be outdoors. I enjoy hiking, biking, and camping with my husband, son, and two dogs.
