My journey into medicine began by watching my grandfather work as an optician who practiced in remote areas in Iran. Seeing the life-changing impact he had on his patients despite minimal resources sparked a deep passion for medicine in me. This inspiration led me to pursue my B.A. from UC Berkeley and my doctorate degree from Touro University-California, College of Osteopathic Medicine and to train as a flight surgeon and an eye surgeon through the U.S. Navy.

Having lived in seven countries and traveled to over a dozen more, I’ve developed a profound love for different cultures and languages. These experiences have taught me invaluable lessons from people in every corner of the globe – shaping me into a more empathetic, open-minded citizen of the world. I bring that same openness to serving our local community with excellence and heart.

The core of my practice is commitment to ethical, professional care that always puts the patient first. I believe that open communication, empathy and high standards are the foundation of great medicine. I strive to create an environment where my patients can learn, feel heard and supported on their journey to care for their health and vision.

As a comprehensive ophthalmologist, I provide a full range of medical and surgical eye care. I have a particular passion for treating conditions such as cataract, glaucoma, eyelid abnormalities and dry eyes. I also offer refractive surgery and cosmetic services.

A central part of my life’s mission is bringing modern medicine to those who lack access to it. This mission has led me to work locally with the Oregon Health and Science University eye mobile unit and Clackamas Free Clinic, as well as with international organizations, such as ACE Global in Honduras, where I helped train ophthalmology surgeons. Whether I am treating a complex acute issue in the clinic or teaching the next generation of doctors, I am driven by the belief that everyone deserves to see the world clearly. 

Outside the office, I spend time with my children and husband. We love hosting international high school exchange students, hiking, camping, traveling, learning ceramics, discovering good food and staying in touch with friends and family.
