From a very young age, I knew that I wanted to be of service to others, and I was grateful to join the nursing profession in 2009. After several years as a registered nurse, I continued my education and became a women’s health nurse practitioner. To me, this role combines the best of both worlds – doctor and nurse. Following my longtime passion for women’s and gender-related health, I pursued specialized training in these areas.
My practice goals are to provide excellent, comprehensive and empathetic care to my patients, from puberty through menopause and into the wise-woman years. I value my relationships with my patients and believe in treating them as the unique individuals that they are. I see my patients as the experts on themselves, and I encourage them to be active partners in their own health.
I have a special interest in peri/menopause management, and I’m certified in bioidentical hormone therapy pellet placement. LGBTQ+ care, including hormone management and other gender-affirming therapies, is another area that I’m passionate about. I also have added training in sexual health, and believe that everyone deserves to have satisfying and fulfilling intimate relationships.
Born in Phoenix, I spent the first six years of my life in Los Angeles, followed by about 20 years in the South. Despite my southern-gal roots, I always felt the West Coast calling me back, and I’ve been happy to call Portland home since 2011.
I earned my nursing degree at Linfield University and my master’s and advanced practice registered nursing (APRN) degrees at Frontier Nursing University in Versailles, Ky.
For health and happiness, I believe that taking care of one’s spirit and body are of equal importance. I enjoy hiking, hot yoga, camping, homesteading, travelling, reading, and spending time with my family.
