Bio

I chose a career in urology because it gives me the opportunity to combine my surgical skills, medical knowledge and empathy to help improve life for men and women, and to help save lives. Through my work, I am able to help men father children, to help men and women prevent and find relief from kidney stones, to address patients’ urinary difficulties and to treat a variety of cancers. I also get to build close, long-term relationships with patients and their loved ones, and to provide support in their most difficult times. I can’t think of a more rewarding profession.

I practice patient-centered medicine and emphasize listening and paying attention to details. I have performed thousands of urological procedures using minimally invasive techniques, including UroLift® implant placement for treatment of BPH (enlarged prostate). I perform traditional open surgery as well.

I completed my medical degree at Temple University in Philadelphia, and my residency and internship at the University of Rochester in New York, and I am board certified in urology. I’ve served as a member of The Portland Clinic Executive Board, as the chair of the urology department at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, and in other leadership roles.

I moved to Portland from the East Coast in 2002, with my wife and our two children, to join The Portland Clinic. We fell in love with the natural beauty of Portland, and we love hiking the trails of Forest Park and visiting the Columbia River Gorge and Cannon Beach. Aside from spending time with my wife and our now-grown kids, I enjoy reading, Yoga and listening to music. I was born in Jerusalem, Israel, and I speak fluent Hebrew.

Dr. Zusman has been named a Top Doctor by Portland Monthly magazine multiple times.
