I began medical school at the Universidad Veracruzana and then continued my clinical rotations at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and at the University of Miami, FL, graduating with honors. I worked as an ER physician and surgical assistant for four years, completed my internal medicine residency at the Northeast Ohio Medical University and then moved to Arizona for three years where I practiced hospital and outpatient medicine.
I moved to Portland, OR in 2014 and have been working locally in urgent care and I am excited to be joining the urgent care team at The Portland Clinic. I enjoy the variety of cases that urgent care offers, including acute and chronic medical conditions as well as performing minor surgical procedures. It’s gratifying to be able to assist patients with their acute needs and to refer them to the appropriate specialist.
I strive to live a well-balanced life. I have been practicing mindfulness meditation since 2001. I have completed long distance triathlons and have been running for a number of years. I believe exercise is important for overall health and, in addition, I try to eat healthy most of the time and enjoy trying new foods. I spend as much time as possible in nature with my wife and our two dogs. I love to travel and explore in the company of family and friends.
