Bio

Through my education and life experiences, I have developed a reverence for the human body and the amazing ways in which it functions, adapts to its surroundings and heals itself after injury. As a foot and ankle surgeon, I find satisfaction in developing both surgical and non-surgical solutions to help the human body move more efficiently and comfortably. Whether I’m treating a mild overuse injury, a complex deformity or a traumatic fracture-dislocation, my goal is to restore normal, pain-free motion by tapping into the body’s ability to adapt and heal. Sometimes this means simple stretching exercises; other times it means reconstructive surgery with a multispecialty team approach.

My fascination with human movement began in college, while I was studying exercise physiology at Brigham Young University. I went on to study podiatric medicine at Rosalind Franklin University in Chicago, where I graduated with honors. Originally from Boise, Idaho, I was happy to return to the Northwest to complete my surgical training in the Legacy Health and Kaiser Permanente Podiatric Surgical Residency in Portland, and I’ve been at home here ever since. I am board certified in foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.

I find balance in life by spending time with my wife and daughters. You may find me out for an early morning jog, enjoying the outdoors with my family, or cheering for my kids at a softball game or swim meet.
