Bio

From a young age, I knew I wanted to work in health care. Optometry offered me the perfect blend of science, art and patient care. My favorite aspects of working in eye care are hearing patients’ individual stories, learning about their needs, and providing them with clear, concise education. While I practice comprehensive optometry, I especially enjoy medically based eye care. Understanding that many systemic conditions can affect the eyes, I value a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

As a Portland native, joining The Portland Clinic made me feel felt right at home. I didn’t stray too far from home for any of my schooling, attending Oregon State University before graduating from Pacific University with a doctorate degree in optometry. While at Pacific, I concurrently completed a Master of Education degree in vision function to help me learn how to better serve my younger patients. Following that, I completed a residency in ocular disease and primary care at the Portland VA Medical Center.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy travelling and spending time with my family, my friends and my dog. I particularly enjoy being active outside, hiking and camping when the weather permits. I also have an affinity for plants – working in the garden or tending to my expansive houseplant collection is fun and rewarding for me.
