Bio

Years ago, I injured my knee playing volleyball, and I credit the athletic trainers who worked with me for aiding in my recovery and for introducing me to the world of sports medicine. Today, I am a certified athletic trainer and serve as The Portland Clinic’s sports medicine outreach coordinator. In that role, I work with local youth sports clubs that otherwise wouldn’t have access to a sports medicine specialist. In the office, I work as a physician extender and assist the orthopedic physicians with fracture care, casting, bracing and concussion testing. I love educating our patients about their injuries and how to care for themselves during recovery.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in exercise science and athletic training at Kansas University and my master’s degree at the University of Missouri. My extensive sports medicine background spans almost 30 years of working with athletes at all levels. Before joining The Portland Clinic, I held positions as the head athletic trainer at Coastal Carolina University and as an athletic trainer for the U.S. Olympic Committee.

In addition to my work at the clinic, I’m grateful to be involved with The Portland Clinic Foundation and its commitment to giving back to our community. Outside of the clinic, my greatest passion is traveling the world and experiencing new places and cultures. I grew up in St. Louis and lived in Myrtle Beach, S.C., for 15 years before falling in love with the Northwest and moving to Portland. My perfect Portland day is getting out in nature, and then meeting friends to try a new restaurant.
