Bio

I believe in a common-sense approach to medicine, one where the provider collaborates with the patient to help the patient achieve great physical and mental health. I try to stay on the learning curve and to improve continuously, so I can provide the best care for my patients.

I earned my medical degree in India and completed my internal medicine residency at New York University Downtown Hospital. I also hold a master’s degree in clinical research from Oregon Health & Science University.

I moved to Portland in 2010 and enjoy its verdant surroundings and proximity to the great outdoors. In addition to all outdoor activities and the arts, I get great satisfaction from my organic vegetable and herb garden and from photographing my prize-winning tomatoes.

Dr. Uppal has been named a Top Doctor by Portland Monthly magazine multiple times.
