It’s time to get your flu vaccine

Flu vaccines for the 2025-2026 season are now available at The Portland Clinic by appointment only. If you have an upcoming appointment your provider will offer you a flu shot during your visit.

The flu — aka influenza — is a contagious respiratory virus that can cause mild to severe illness, and sometimes death. Hospitals treat thousands of people for serious flu complications every year. Those at especially high risk of hospitalization include:

• Adults aged 65 and older
• Children younger than 2 years old
• Pregnant women
• People with weakened immune systems
• People with chronic conditions such as asthma, heart disease, lung disease, diabetes, obesity, and kidney or liver disorders
• People who live in nursing homes or other long-term care facilities

For the 2025-2026 flu season, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) urges everyone to get a flu vaccine (except infants younger than 6 months old), preferably in September or October.

Flu vaccinations at The Portland Clinic

The Portland Clinic is currently offering flu vaccines by appointment only for established patients. See below for further details.

LOCATIONS

Flu vaccines are available at the following locations:
Northeast (2):   Patients ages 6 months and older

Beaverton (3):   Patients ages 6 months and older

Tigard (4):         Patients ages 9 years and older

South (5):          Patients ages 6 months and older

Please note, we are offering high-dose flu vaccines to patients who are 65 years and older at all our clinic locations for the 2025-2026 flu season.

SCHEDULING A FLU VACCINE APPOINTMENT

Flu vaccines are available to established patients by appointment only. We strongly encourage you to get your flu vaccine during a scheduled visit with your provider, or you can schedule a flu vaccine appointment by calling our scheduling line at 503-223-3113.

BILLING

We can bill your insurance for your flu vaccine. If you plan to pay out-of-pocket, you will be required to pay $80 at the time of your vaccination. Please note that for the high-dose flu vaccine (formulated for adults 65 or older), the out-of-pocket fee is $140.

COVID-19 vaccine update: Our clinical team is carefully reviewing the latest FDA authorizations and CDC guidance. The Portland Clinic has preordered the 2025-2026 Moderna COVID vaccine and we’ll share details on availability, eligibility, and scheduling for the updated COVID vaccine as soon as we have them.
