Audiology

Overview

Hearing loss is the third most common health problem in this country, affecting our communication with everyone we interact with every day. The Portland Clinic’s audiology program is designed to help you understand your unique hearing problems and how they may affect your daily life. Our audiologist specializes in diagnosing and treating both hearing and balance disorders.

If you’re seeking help for a hearing problem, especially for the first time, the first step is to see an otolaryngologist (an ear, nose and throat physician) for a consultation, and an audiologist for a thorough clinical hearing evaluation. Although hearing aids are often recommended for hearing problems, another form of treatment may be necessary. Our goal is to provide you with the understanding and knowledge you need to make informed care decisions for your hearing health, and to support you in effectively managing your hearing loss.
