The Portland Clinic announces new chief medical officer

Welcome Dr. Amy Mulcaster, chief medical officer

The Portland Clinic is pleased to announce Amy Mulcaster, DO, as its new chief medical officer. Dr. Mulcaster will succeed Craig Wright, MD, in this position effective April 1, 2020.

Amy Mulcaster, DO

The role of chief medical officer entails partnering with the clinic’s other chief executives to strategically build and guide the multispecialty medical group into the future, in addition to continuing to practice medicine.

Dr. Mulcaster has been a provider with The Portland Clinic for nearly 12 years, during which time she’s overseen a thriving gynecological practice at the clinic’s Beaverton location while supporting her colleagues and upholding the clinics’ core values.  She has been involved in many aspects of the clinic including recruiting and mentoring new physicians, serving on surgery center committees, and offering counsel on The Portland Clinic Physician Compensation Task Force.

“I am proud of how our clinic has evolved in the last decade and the role the clinic has played in caring for our community for almost a century. I look forward to contributing to the leadership of our organization to help navigate the future of our clinic,” said Dr. Mulcaster.

Dr. Mulcaster will serve three days a week as the clinic’s chief medical officer and the other two days in clinic caring for gynecology patients.

“Dr. Mulcaster has excellent communication skills, strategic thinking and the courage to address challenging times and long-range planning as we move from a volume to value-based care model,” said Dick Clark, CEO.

More information, including a video, on Dr. Mulcaster can be found on her profile page.
