Changes at the Hillsboro office

Learn about how we're consolidating some services

As part of our continuing commitment to provide the best care possible for our patients, we regularly evaluate where we are investing our resources and examine how we might be able to make improvements. This is an ongoing process that is not always easy, but ultimately ensures that all of our patients have the best overall access to medical care. With this in mind, we have decided to consolidate some of our services in Hillsboro. Effective May 31, 2016, our practitioners who work at our Hillsboro branch will join our teams at our Beaverton and Tigard locations.  May 27th will be the last day they will see patients at the Hillsboro branch. We realize this will require some transition and adjustment for our patients in Hillsboro and we know it likely prompts some questions. We have provided answers to these questions below and we’ll continue to update this post with information as the weeks progress. We thank you for your loyal support of The Portland Clinic and for allowing us to continue serving your medical needs. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any additional questions you may have. -Dick Clark, CEO

What is happening to the doctors and staff at the Hillsboro location? Can I continue to see my doctor?
Yes, you absolutely can continue to see your current doctor. Dr. Randy Pitts, along with most of his staff, as well as Jane Hopson will continue to see patients out of our Beaverton location a few miles down Farmington Road at 15950 SW Millikan Way. Dr. Chris Hyun will move his practice to our Tigard office, located off of Highway 217 at 9250 SW Hall Blvd. Both of these locations can easily be accessed via Tri-Met.

I am a patient at the Hillsboro location. What do I need to do?
Our team is happy to assist in transitioning your medical care to one of our other clinic locations. Please contact our administration office at (503) 525-5229, or call the Hillsboro location at (503) 648-4171, and our team will gladly ensure your medical care continues seamlessly.

Does this mean The Portland Clinic is in financial trouble? Why are you closing this location?
Absolutely not. As we recently shared in The Portland Business Journal, we have worked hard to build a diversified business model that has served us well for the last 95 years and will continue to serve us as we move into the next century. We are constantly evaluating our resources to ensure we are maximizing our investments on behalf of our patients. This was not an easy decision, but we ultimately recognized that consolidating our efforts on the west side is the best option for our family of patients as a whole. We have some exciting projects in the works that we look forward to sharing with you in the coming months.
