#MeetYourDoc — Prasanna Chandran, MD

Chief medical information officer, family medicine, Beaverton

It was at a young age when Dr. Prasanna Chandran decided she wanted to become a physician. A fascination with the human body drove her to eventually pursue a medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine. While attending medical school, she was drawn to the exciting potential of treating families and patients of all ages, which inspired her to concentrate her studies on general family practice.

A member of The Portland Clinic medical staff for more than a decade, and a native of the PNW, Dr. Chandran was drawn back to the Rose City to be closer to her family. The allure of fantastic patients, tremendous staff and wonderful providers reinforces her decision to stay in the Pacific Northwest.

“As a team member of The Portland Clinic, I’m reminded daily about my choices in this fulfilling career, with the great mix of staff, providers and patients,” says Dr. Chandran. “With such a strong support system within the organization, I’ve been able to explore and become involved with more aspects of medicine, including the IT system supporting our practice and health of our neighbors.”

Besides the amazing view of Portland’s Rose Parade every year from the Downtown office, the best thing about practicing at The Portland Clinic, according to Dr. Chandran, is working hand in hand with patients to find the best health and lifestyle solutions that work for each individual.

When not tending to her patients, Dr. Chandran is an avid gardener and loves to exercise. If she can experience the two hobbies together with her daughter, even better!
